In Nomeco, Commercial Affairs is responsible for entering into agreements with suppliers of human medicines and liberalised OTC medicines on the Danish market.

If you represent a new supplier who wants to distribute to private and/or hospital pharmacies, or if you have questions regarding existing trade agreements, you are very welcome to contact Commercial Affairs.

Nomeco handles the administration of veterinary medicines for production animals and negotiates trade agreements with all suppliers of veterinary medicines. Veterinary medicines are divided into two categories:

1. Liberalised - Medicines for production animals (animal species kept commercially for the production of meat, milk, eggs, honey, wool or fur).
    
2. Prescription medicines - Medicines for hobby animals

Non-registered specialities (IRS) refers to medicines that are not marketed in Denmark. In certain situations, these medicines can be sold and dispensed in Denmark if a dispensing authorisation has been issued by the Danish Medicines Agency. This authorisation can be applied for by doctors, veterinarians and dentists in Denmark.

Nomeco wholesaler and IRS products

In order for Nomeco Wholesale to handle an IRS product, the supplier must inform both Nomeco and the Danish Medicines Agency about who is responsible for the import to Denmark. The responsible importer must have a Danish §39 authorisation issued by the Danish Medicines Agency. For further information, please contact Commercial Affairs.

Distributing an IRS product via Nomeco wholesaler

If you wish to distribute an IRS product through Nomeco Wholesale, please fill out this form. This will lead to an assessment of the product to determine if there is demand for it and/or if it is already part of our range. An assessment of price and delivery reliability will also be made.
